What are your responsibilities at SuperFlow?
I provide support and sales consultations for our customers in the southeastern United States. This involves everything from the sales process, to installation, commissioning, training, and on-site customer support.

How long have you worked for SuperFlow and in what positions?
I've been with SuperFlow for almost 10 years. My first position was customer service repair technician in Colorado Springs, CO, then customer service technical support engineer. After convincing the company's original founder (Neal Williams) that it would help our organization, I moved to Charlotte, NC to support existing and new customers in the southeast region. [more]

Be sure to monitor your weather readings. Air temperature, humidity, and barometer are used to calculate the correction factors which in turn are used for corrected torque and horsepower. Inaccurate weather readings will produce inaccurate performance results.

Weather conditions affect engine performance. For instance, on a hot day engine performance will be different than on a cold day. Try to maintain consistent weather conditions as best you can.

AutoDyn

Control all aspects of the test from the front seat of the test vehicle with SuperFlow's handheld controller.
Precisely map fuel-injection curves, troubleshoot driveability issues, and target drivetrain frictional loses testing with computer-controlled load.

Test rapidly and easily with SuperFlow's WindDyn™ software built-in tests, or create your own sophisticated test cycles. [more]

Chassis Dynamometer

Why should an engine builder invest in a chassis dynamometer?

Many performance upgrades for newer vehicles require dyno tuning for optimal improvements.
Customers comebacks are financially expensive and detrimental to a company's reputation. Using a load-controlled dynamometer to validate repairs saves money in the long run. Customers are happier, they tell their friends, and they feel good about paying your company's products and work.

Karway-Cottman Discovers New Business Opportunity with TCRS

Know how to get Jim Hoey excited?

Ask him about the impact his Torque Converter Rebuilding System (TCRS) has had on his Mesa, Arizona transmission remanufacturing and repair business.
Six years ago, as General Manager of Karway-Cottman Remanufacturing, Jim signed up to tour the TCRS Reno facility before it was relocated to Des Moines, Iowa. "I was out there for the APRA Show and decided to do the tour. That's when I first saw what TCRS had to offer," said Jim. [more]

Marc Pavelic, SFD Market & Business Development Manager
How long have you worked at SuperFlow?
Four years as of Friday, August 1st.

What do you like about working for SuperFlow Technologies Group?
I particularly enjoy that we have such a high-quality product; it certainly helps make my job easier. I also enjoy the marketplace I focus on and the customers in that marketplace. I was involved in the heavy-duty transportation market before SuperFlow, so it is very easy for me to relate to customers and their needs. Generally, it's fun-based on my personal interests and involvement in auto racing, I have known the SuperFlow name long before I worked here. [more]

Does a SuperFlow TCRS make sense for your operation?

Each situation is different, but as a general rule, if you're purchasing two or more converters a day from outside sources, you may want to explore the potential of an in-house converter rebuilding program for your own remanufacturing work and the extra income potential it can generate from other transmission shops in the area.

Technologically Advanced AutoDyn-30 AWD

When it comes to testing AWD vehicles, why is it imperative that all wheels turn at the same speed? A slight difference in speed between the front and the rear wheels will lead to driveline wind-up and potentially cause expensive damage to your customer's vehicle, not to mention your loss in reputation. Not only does this place extraordinary strain on the driveline components, but it also severely distorts the torque split between the front and rear axles. [more]

Excerpt from PRI Interview with Steve Matthiesen, VP of Sales

Steve Matthiesen, VP of Sales Colorado-based SuperFlow
Excerpt from PRI Interview:

PRI recently intervied Steve Matthiesen, VP of Sales of Colorado-based SuperFlow.
Below are some of the topics he discussed:

"It was once true that if you could find eight to 10 horsepower by running on a dyno, you were considered to be a dynamometer duru. Today, users are looking for less than one-horsepower improvements. This has led to better software and a better means to collect the data. For example, we know that on a chassis dynamometer, the higher the resolution of data collection, the easier it is to see small change - much like looking at the data with a magnifying glass. The closer you look, the more you find. We now sample data at over 2,000 times second, where 10 years ago it was the norm to sample at 100 times per second." [more]
