Universal Technical Institute (UTI) is one of the nation's cutting-edge technical education providers.

Below is an interview with Michael Parker, UTI Automotive Program manager, describing how UTI uses SuperFlow equipment in their curriculum and the resulting benefits.

About UTI

Universal Technical Institute, Inc. is a leading provider of technical education training for students seeking careers as professional automotive, Diesel, collision repair, motorcycle and marine technicians. The company offers undergraduate degree, diploma, and certificate programs at 10 campuses across the United States and manufacturer-sponsored advanced programs at 18 dedicated training centers. Through its campus-based school system, Universal Technical Institute, Inc. offers specialized technical education programs through several well-known brands, including Universal Technical Institute (UTI), Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and Marine Mechanics Institute (MMI) and NASCAR Technical Institute (NTI). For more information, visit www.uti.edu.

Founded in Phoenix, Arizona in 1965, UTI's first automotive program was attended by 11 students. Since then, the campus-based school has graduated more than 100,000 professional technicians representing the automotive, collision repair, Diesel, motorcycle and marine industries.

Universal Technical Institute (UTI)

UTI's Automotive Technology Program covers everything from foreign and domestic car technology to power and performance. Students receive hands-on training with some of the world's most powerful engines while learning electronics, computers, specialized tools and software programs.

UTI Collision Repair & Refinishing Technology (CRRT) Program students learn the basics of bodywork, custom paint, welding, frame alignment as well as mechanical and electrical repair. The Program is based on Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR), the industry standard for collision repair training. UTI's CRRT Program utilizes the same curriculum taught in the field by I-CAR certified instructors.

UTI's Diesel & Industrial Technology Program provides the training necessary to become a successful entry-level Diesel truck and industrial equipment technician. Training covers how Diesel truck engines work through hands-on training on the biggest and most powerful equipment and engines - Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, International Truck and others. Students learn preventive maintenance, computer controls and high-tech electronics, including air brakes, hydraulics and transport refrigeration.

NASCAR Technical Institute (NASCAR Tech)

NASCAR Tech, a division of Universal Technical Institute, Inc., has an exclusive educational alliance with NASCAR. Located in Mooresville, North Carolina-the heart of racing-NASCAR Tech is the only school of its kind that combines automotive training and a NASCAR-approved technologies curriculum into one program. NASCAR Tech provides coursework in engine construction; electrical, fuel and lubrication systems; drivetrains; body and chassis fabrication; and racing theory principles. Students learn the history, rules and regulations of NASCAR as well as the teamwork necessary in today's automotive and racing industries.

Marine Mechanics Institute (MMI)

Through MMI's Marine Technician Specialist Program students gain a solid understanding of marine mechanics and technology. MMI is endorsed and equipped by Mercury Marine and Suzuki and supported by Honda Marine, Volvo Penta and Yamaha. MMI's relationships with top marine manufacturers make it possible for students to train on a wide variety of analytic and diagnostic equipment and learn the fundamentals of operation, practical applications and technical aspects of each system.

Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI)

MMI's Motorcycle Technician Specialist Program offers hands-on training with up-to-date systems and vehicles. Using the same type of high-tech equipment and late-model motorcycles, students learn engines, suspensions, chassis, electrical systems and transmissions. MMI is endorsed and/or supported and equipped by the top six motorcycle manufacturers: BMW, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha and manufacturer-specific courses.
