Technologically Advanced AutoDyn-30 AWD

SuperFlow's latest innovation in chassis dynamometer technology

As vehicles become increasingly advanced, the need for All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) dynamometers rises. Not only is this a requirement for AWD and 4WD vehicles, but consider that modern 2WD vehicles are equipped with wheel sensors which require that all wheels turn at the same time to avoid fault messages of the traction control system and initiate the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to reduce power to the wheels. Attempting to circumvent these sensors is not advisable because it costs time and yields uncertain results.

To provide the right solution, SuperFlow has responded to this demand by adding the AD-30 AWD chassis dynamometer to its already impressive lineup of chassis dynamometers.

Ranging from the highly economical 2WD AutoDyn-11 to the large 42" roll high-performance chassis dyno, SuperFlow covers the entire range of chassis dynos.

So, when it comes to testing AWD vehicles, why is it imperative that all wheels turn at the same speed? A slight difference in speed between the front and rear wheels will lead to driveline wind-up and potentially cause expensive damage to your customer's vehicle, not to mention your loss in reputation. This places extraordinary strain on the driveline components and also severely distorts the torque split between the front and rear axles.

SuperFlow is the only company that delivers a standard AWD dyno that can accurately measure the torque split because the dyno contains two independent load cells. Some dynos attempt to do this by controlling the speeds with two eddy current (EC) absorbers. Sounds easy, one might think. However, even running at slightly different speeds for a short moment generates significant driveline wind-up and distorts torque split. Many dynamometer manufacturers rely on the vehicle's driveline which is an inevitable weak link on AWD vehicles. This induces natural driveline wind-up and binding which leads to driveline breakage and still does not address 2WD vehicle issues.

The large differential, custom-designed for such an application, is unique because it eliminates the need for belts or right-hand gearboxes.

Before a new chassis dyno leaves the SuperFlow factory, the dyno-specific parasitic losses as well as the actual inertia precisely lead to the fact that SuperFlow's chassis dynos are by far the most accurate machines on the market.

The AD-30 AWD is SuperFlow's newest dynamometer in this lineup and fills a unique market gap for an affordable loading- or inertia-based AWD chassis dynamometer with connected rolls. With industry-leading standard features such as a dominant 900-hp eddy current power absorber, 150-mph top speed, and conservative 1200+hp acceleration rating, this dyno gets the job done!

A hydraulically actuated wheelbase adjustment system accommodates vehicles from 92-131" (234-333 cm) making the AD-30 AWD ideal for imports to small trucks. It provides the market's heaviest axle rating of 8,000 lbs. per axle as a standard feature.

Our market-leading WinDyn™-based modular electronics package displays all data in real time while you run the test and delivers reliable service and proven durability. At the end of each test you can hand your customers a CD with the test results, allowing them to replay the test in real time or slow motion on their own computers.

SuperFlow's industry standard for training is two days at your facility to ensure you and your team are ready to operate your new dynamometer with confidence. Of course, SuperFlow's lifetime support hotline is always available when you have a question.

We invite you to learn why SuperFlow is not only the standard by which all other dynamometers are measured, but also why ours are the most accurate dynamometers in the world.
