This throttle position tester allows easy and reliable on or off vehicle testing of a throttle position sensor (TPS). Test looms are supplied for easy on-vehicle testing. Simply remove the existing connector and plug in the test loom. The tester has dedicated looms that allow the TPS to be accurately tested, adjusted and set on the vehicle. It comes with data sheets for the most common TPS units. Each sheet shows a photo of the TPS, indicates which of the test looms to use and shows appropriate voltage readings for each of the necessary tests. It can test track and wiper resistance, wiper voltage, reference voltage and throttle switch function. Use either vehicle power via battery clips or connect to a separate 12-volt power supply. There is a digital meter for accurate voltage and resistance readings and an analog meter for visual indication of wiper to track contact.
