Introduction

Experts agree that a solenoid tester is "a must" for any transmission shop, as solenoids represent the "weakest link" in the transmission. Your AxiLine Solenoid Leak Tester is designed to test on/off solenoids, pulse width modulated solenoids, and complete solenoid packs. Solenoids are tested electrically and hydraulically with automatic transmission fluid (ATF) or NP-371 as set by the operator. The tests are accomplished by testing each solenoid separate from the valve body. The solenoids may be cycled repeatedly to test their ability to hold pressure. Test up to 6 solenoids at a time with this advanced, yet easy-to-use, tester. Choose from manual or automatic test modes.

A dump valve is used for dual ported solenoids to check for blockage and provides a visual indication of fluid going through the solenoid while flushing it. The flow meter can be used with the dump valve to provide a flow value for comparison. The flow meter can also be used to check single ported solenoids for blockage in the "open" state.

The electronic control panel controls the operation of the solenoid. Solenoid resistance can be measured in ohms to test for broken or shorted coil windings. Volts and amps can be measured when activating the solenoid to check for excessive current draw. PWM solenoids are controlled by adjustable duty cycle and frequency inputs. ON/OFF solenoids are controlled by a single push button. CVI pressure switches can also be tested when part of the solenoid pack. Connection between the control panel and the solenoid is made with a multi-use test.
