The difference between a standard Schaffer Shifter, and a heavy-duty model are extra strain relief adapters and a built-in cooling fan. (Cooling fan shown on the right.) If you have a large transmission shop, or are likely to be using your Schaffer Shifter fairly consistently on a Dyno, order the heavy-duty unit. If you will only need it a couple of times a day, the standard unit will suit your needs. (See the chart below to determine which shifter package is right for you.)
For most shops, the Schaffer Shifter starter kit is a great deal (SESS). It comes with a heavy duty storage case, 8' harness and power cord, battery adapter, instruction manual and video, and seven adapters, covering the most common transmissions in today's market.
