Axiline's "Multi-Tasking" Combination Lathe is still the biggest time saver in the driveline shop. This model features tailstock for extra versatility. This hollow spindle lathe is available in a 10" spindle bore making it possible to insert the entire driveline through its bore. A 20" three (3) jaw chuck is used on the combination lathe. The jaws are reversible for holding larger diameter work. A movable carriage with manual cross-feed capable of traveling the length of the way enables the operator to perform any machining functions associated with driveline fabrication such as yoke pilot modifications, machine bushings, turn CV balls and part welds.
A steadyrest and tailstock are provided for securing work of longer lengths. Also provided are three support jaws mounted on the rear of the spindle housing used for supporting tube that extends through the entire spindle housing. Mounted on the carriage compound is a quick-change tool post designed for use with parting tools, standard bits and boring attachments. It's quick, it's easy, it's safe.
