This machine is for thermally bonding a friction ring to a torque converter lock up piston or front cover. The system bonds a pre-glued friction disk to a properly prepared and cleaned piston using high temperature and extreme compressive pressure. The TCRS Piston Bonder is designed to accommodate the most common torque converter lock-up clutches, is operator friendly and fully automatic. It will bond most lock up pistons up to 14 inches in diameter, including front covers. On average, it can complete a piston every seven minutes.
By having this piston bonder you will eliminate down time and freight charges. 28 different bonder dies are included and more than 60 special order dies are available separately. The dies are made of aluminum for fast, even heating. The piston bonder can be mounted on a work bench or an optional stand can be purchased that provides storage for 28 dies. The unit can be upgraded and equipped with a 10" cylinder to exert more pressure on the parts being bonded.
