The Hicklin Allison Control Console World provides the control functions for testing Allison World transmissions outside the vehicle. The control console is compatible with all existing World components and will work with the Hicklin test stand or any other transmission test stand. This control console is designed to operate all Allison MD, MDR, HD and HDR transmissions. The console is used in conjunction with a test stand and it should not be connected to a transmission still on the vehicle.

There is a customer option that can enable the transmission test to be run while the control console is also being used to test the primary WT MD components separate from the vehicle. This test function can only be utilized if a Transmission Simulator Tester is provided. This simulator will duplicate the electrical circuitry of the transmission's valve body during WT component testing. Additionally, an optional diagnostic data reader (DDR) monitor can be used in conjunction with the MD transmission simulator to monitor and diagnose transmission operating conditions.

The control console is a self contained, portable cabinet that contains the interface components found in a typical vehicle installation. The main connector harness can connect to the console up to 20 feet away from the transmission. It operates on 110V/15amp single-phase electricity and shows a full complement of indicator lights and pressure gauges to operate World transmissions with a Hicklin test stand or any other transmission test stand. Selection of the proper electronic control unit (ECU) connections needed for various WT transmissions is easily accessed through the hinged, self latching lid.

The basic ECU is used in the control console. The supplied ECU is programmed as an MD3060. To test other transmission models, such as an MD3560 or an HD transmission, the ECU must be reprogrammed by an Allison Dealer or a separate ECU used. There is room inside the console to hold four ECU's to meet different transmission requirements.
