By simulating severe real-life load conditions, this no-frills towing dynamometer unit is a must for any repair facility dealing with heavy-duty vehicles. The TCD-300 absorbs up to 300 hp from a towing vehicle from 20 to 65 mph. It accurately measures ground speed and drawbar pull, computes horsepower from those values and monitors engine rpm from a photo tachometer sensor. These values are displayed and recorded by the operator control module, which is designed to rest on the floor or passenger's seat next to the vehicle driver. The TCD-300 is self-contained with its own electrical system and surge-activated braking system so it operates independently of the towing vehicle. This maximizes its usability over a broad range of vehicles.
