WinDyn 3.2

WinDyn Demo Software**
WinDyn... Powerful, yet easy to use.
WinDyn® software makes it easy to prepare your dynamometer for testing. It includes ready-to-use, pre-defined test groups that automatically configure the WinDyn® software and the SuperFlow data acquisition equipment to run typical dynamometer tests. These test groups include everything you need to configure your dynamometer. To configure a test, you simply choose one of the pre-defined test groups, auto-zero your sensors, and enter an optional test description. Now you’re ready to start testing
WinDyn is available for the following SuperFlow dynos:
WinDyn is also available for other manufacturer’s dynos that have been equipped with SuperFlow data acquisition systems. If you are interested in using WinDyn on a competitors dyno, contact a SuperFlow representative about the various dyno upgrade packages that we offer.
**Save the ZIP file to your computer, extract, and run Setup.exeCUSTOMIZABLE
The configuration file defines all the channels used for data recording, displays, printouts, limits... etc. You can enter your own formulas in the calculated channels. Linearize your sensor data with interpolation tables. You can even assign system channel names in any language. You can use the test groups provided or modify and save them with a new name for future testing. Most WinDyn users find that it's easier to modify an existing test group for their needs. If you wish, you can start from scratch. WinDyn allows you to configure tests in any combination you can conceive. It’s easy to change colors, organize and resize all screen elements including panel meters, bar graphs, digital readouts, real-time X-Y graphs and more. Use the tool box and WinDyn’s snap-to grid to create professional onscreen displays.
POWERFUL
Use WinDyn test groups to quickly and easily configure the entire system (PC and Dyno) for testing. Design your own test groups, which consist of screens, calculations, limits, test profiles, control parameters and reports… all by using simple menu-driven editors. Save this whole set of configuration data (the test group) under one name. Later, when your operator is ready to run the test, he loads one test group file, and WinDyn automatically prepares itself, the dyno and the test cell for the test. Using a test group, you can configure your system quickly and easily. Programming knowledge is not required.
WHAT IS A TEST GROUP?
It’s a file with a *.tgp extension that completely configures both the computer (WinDyn) and the dyno instrumentation (remote system hardware) for testing. A test group selects all channels being printed or plotted (measured, constants, calculations and interpolations). It selects the ten real-time data screens with the tabular and graphical displays. It selects safety limiting actions that protect your engine or vehicle (see “What are limits?” sidebar on following pages). It selects the actual test profile (the type of test you are running) and its characteristics: acceleration, step, break-in, life cycle, track simulation, etc. It selects all sensor calibrations and linearizations. It selects switch controllers, relay control interfaces, and PID control loops.
EXAMPLES
Break-in tests, life-cycle tests, tests from Microsoft Excel or tests from track data files, all proceed automatically under computer command. WinDyn comes with many pre-configured tests and screen layouts, along with the flexibility for you to design and manage your own tests. Input motor speed settings can range from 0-4000 RPM in any incremental the operator wishes to use. Data is gathered as your transmission shifts up and down through the gears or is subjected to stall testing.
VIEW DATA IN X-Y PLOTS
For each test, you can view up to ten user-defined pages in tabular format. WinDyn portrays data line-byline as it’s sampled. If you’re looking for a particular number, this is a good way to find it. When the test is finished, simply click on the graph icon and WinDyn quickly and automatically generates up to ten different plots of the test data. Your tabular data and graphical data can appear side-by-side on the screen for easy comparison. You can quickly overlay test data to compare it graphically, with up to ten simultaneous overlays. Like all other WinDyn features, the plotting feature is user-configurable. The test group defines which data is on each of the ten pages and on each page’s plot. You can change this at any time, even after the test is completed.
AVERAGE TEST DATAA rapid data-averaging feature makes a new data file from a series of tests which is the average of all the results for the series. Up to ten tests can be averaged into one file. One popular use of the new averaging feature is to run three consecutive tests and then to average them together for one final result. Using this procedure, repeatability between tests can be improved to better than 0.5%.
PLAYBACK & PRINT TESTSWinDyn allows you to replay stored tests with all meters and screens active. You can print any or all WinDyn screens and data to most Windows supported printers.
ORGANIZE YOUR TESTSOrganize and cutomize your test setups with WinDyn Test Setup feature. Choose which setup you want to use for each test and how WinDyn will recall the information based on the chosen test. The specifications you choose will determine the type of info generated at the end of the test.
